Morley's Final Catalogue: So prevalent at light as to be a pest from Ipswich to Gorleston.

Recent Suffolk Status: Abundant.

Life history: Single-brooded. Records from July to October in Suffolk.

Identification: The very similar Sandhill rustic is mainly a coastal species in the county but does wander inland occasionally. Main features to look for in that species are the white-edged kidney mark and a pure white hindwing. It also has a slightly narrower forewing.

Habitat: A wide range of habitats including gardens.

Recorded in 56 (97%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1930.
Last Recorded in 2023.
